Well, we have officially relocated to Canmore! The first week involved unpacking some of our stuff into our rental townhouse, registering kids for school, trying to find childcare, preparing for Can-Bow Motors to become Wolfe Canmore, interviewing for a substitute position with Canadian Rockies Public Schools, getting a business license for my photography business, buying a house and planning renovations…oh and just trying to keep my $#@% together through all of it!
We live in Canmore!
There are so many awesome things happening. Most of the time, I have a huge smile on my face and am telling every person I meet, from the cashier at the grocery store to the fitness class leader at Elevation Place, that we just moved here. There are so many people who have been so welcoming.
But there have also been a few times where I have hit a wall.
It is tough not being at Mayfield Elementary for school start up, but I loved getting sent a picture of our staff on their first day back.
It is tough trying to get all these things done with two kids who want my attention and who also probably need a break from each other. But I appreciate all the offers of support from family and the new people I am meeting who are also looking for childcare options for us.
It is tough not having our golden retriever, Indy, around, but I am so grateful to the friends and family who are taking care of him until he can join us.
It is tough knowing that just as things are starting to settle here in Canmore, we will be heading back up to Edmonton for Kane’s heart surgery.
Those are some of my lows. But you guys there are so many more highs. I am so happy to be in Canmore. It is beautiful. And things are starting to fall into place thanks to so many people, both those who have been with us all along as well as new friends.
Added bonus…I have had responses from quite a few educators and parents who signed up for my new educational photography newsletter, Click with Kids. I first mentioned it last week. If you are interested in finding out more check out my post Tell Your Story or just click this link to subscribe. I would love to be talking with you about photography as well.
