This is Me – 9 of 52

Since getting home from my Momenta photography workshop, it has been a bit of a whirlwind and I haven’t even managed to pick up my camera. I had three days back in the classroom before Teacher’s Convention. In the past two days I have seen some amazing speakers and am heading into the remainder of the year with a renewed sense of purpose. Actually, in both my photography and my teaching. Hmmm…maybe March is my new year.

People who inspired me…

Grace Dearborn – for reaffirming my own style of teaching and offering an incredible “buffet” of visual strategies to use in the classroom

Shelley Moore – for her ideas on making curriculum accessible for all students through goal setting and growth mindset

Michel Chikwanine – for sharing his story and working to increase awareness about child soldiers

Things I’m going to research…

Shelley Moore’s templates for teaching and empowering all learners

Alberta Education’s upcoming competency based curriculum

3 Act Math

Books I want to read…

The End of Average How we Succeed in a World that Values Sameness by Todd Rose

Your Fantastic Elastic Brain by JoAnn Deak

Looks like I’m going to busy!
