Project Maverick: A Week in the Life of my 9 Month Old

I just finished the first week of my course, The Business of Telling Stories. Our main goal this week was to take clean lifestyle images. We were asked to push our ISO and to think about the different rooms in our houses and how the light changes throughout the day. Some of these images I submitted throughout the week. I will denote those with a CC caption because I received constructive criticism (CC) from our instructor and peers and then made some adjustments. Many of these images didn’t make the cut. Mainly because they didn’t fit the clean lifestyle image we were aiming for, but they still showcase Maverick at 9 months. I really wanted to focus on Maverick because Kane had his 15 minutes way back when he was 9 months old in my post, Project HurriKane. The big differences between that post and this post are: 1) Maverick vs Kane, 2) all in our house vs out and about, 3) my progression as a photographer.

Waking up from naptime isn't always fun, especially when Mom's damn camera is out!

Hello Indy. PS I'm pretty sure Mav's first word is Indy. It sounds more like nnn-D but he says it for other dogs too.

CC: I love the reflection and the two handed eating.

These final two images are the ones I am submitting for week one. Meaning they will be CC’d but haven’t been at the time of this post.

Shot with my D700 at 35mm ISO 4000, f/1.8, 1/80. The focus is a little soft and I think a 24mm lens for these shots from above would be amazing.
