Project 5 of 52 – Inspired By…

This week our assignment was to use an inspiration piece to guide us in creating our own image. My original idea was to shoot food at my favourite restaurant here in Edmonton. My husband and I went to Wildflower on Saturday to celebrate my birthday. For inspiration I looked up some of the culinary photos on their website before heading out. Nana took both kids and we went out and had a fabulous dinner. Somehow (wine, seafood, conversation and dessert) I was prevented from spending the time to get the shots I wanted. Oh, and I don’t particularly like stylized shooting.

Then I remembered the Tim Horton’s cups I had saved from Christmas time.

I had a vision of shooting Kane and Maverick in a sled on fresh snow with the cups. There was fresh snow. I had the kids and their snowsuits. I had the cups. Here’s what happened…

Maverick prior to heading outside.

Attempt #1 Kane isn't even in the shot yet.

Attempt #2

Attempt #2 Maverick is already starting to freak out.

Attempt #3 Nana is helping to situate Maverick. Right after this shot Maverick ended up taking a header into the snow. Second kids are way tougher!

Now we're one kid down.

This is my submission to Clickin Moms for this week. I love Kane's little smirk.

But managed to get some cute shots. I love Kane’s little smirk.

This is when we asked the little turkey to drink out of the cup. Which to him meant throw it and grin!

And then since Kane was so helpful we let him do some shovelling!

Not quite what I planned, but that’s my boys. They keep me on my toes!
