Voluntography – October 2014

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting Karsten and his mom, Carmen. Karsten was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia,  or ALL, in June and has been staying at Ronald McDonald House while he undergoes treatment. He and his family are expecting to stay until December at which point the plan is to head to Calgary for a bone marrow transplant.

Sweet shoes!

This is one tough kid. While here in Edmonton, Karsten is attending grade 11 classes at St. Francis Xavier High School as well as taking part in their Lacrosse Academy.

Karsten forgot his lacrosse stick at school and had to use one with no netting, so we improvised and strung his Beaded Journey beads through.

Good luck with the rest of your journey, Karsten. And I hope you knock ’em dead with your sexy nurse halloween costume!
