Happy Heart Day!

Today is Valentine’s Day, aka Heart Day. This post is in honour of my heart warrior, Kane, and all the heart warriors we have met along our journey.

Today is also the last day of Congenital Heart Disease Awareness Week. My little heartbreaker wants to make sure everyone knows how they can get involved. In a previous post, I talked about donating to your local Children’s Hospital, volunteering your time at Ronald McDonald House or donating blood. I would also like to highlight the work of The Madden Deluca Foundation. This family and their supporters work in Madden’s memory to bring financial help and emotional comfort to the families of tiny heroes fighting to survive.

Not every family we know has had the opportunity to take their warrior home with them. Each of those warriors are in our thoughts.

In the following sequence of photos Dr. Love was trying to show off his ability to stand on his own. He didn’t quite make it, but he was still sure to clap for himself! Big thanks to Auntie Erin for finding the Dr. Love shirt and baby wrangling during both shoots!

I was hoping to do one more photo session of Kane and his heart monkey for Heart Day, but Kane is not feeling a hundred percent and needed cuddles much more than a camera in his face.

  1. That first photo is fantastic! I hadn’t seen the Dr Love photos yet! Where is credit to Auntie Erin for wardrobe and baby wrangler though?!
